SELF DEVELOPMENT STEP FIVE: ACTION

image.jpg

SUCCESS REQUIRES ACTION. FAILURE DOES NOT.

  1. AWARENESS of our problems.

  2. ACCEPTANCE of our reality.

  3. APPRECIATION for our past self.

  4. ASPIRATIONS for our future.

What is left? ACTION.

In order to make change we have to know what is wrong, that it is okay to be lost, that our journey so far has provided value, even if it is off course. Now that it is clear that we have become lost in the forest, we need to find something to recenter and to aim towards. So, we look up to a mountain, a mountain that is beautiful, idyllic and exactly where we wish to be right now.

So, do you just stare at that mountain? Or, do you decide to go for it?

There is NO path that you can follow that will lead you there, so the journey will be unknown and full of retracing your steps, taking risks and doing extremely hard work.

ARE YOU WILLING TO DO THAT?

We are all lost in a forest and we can decide to wander around, scared, lost and fear the sounds in the night or we can aim for something.

DISCOVERY YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL.

Focus on that goal and go for it, even if it is one small action a day. It does not have to be a giant leap over the largest cavern, it may be looking for a way across, designing a bridge, or climbing down to climb back up.

I started at rock bottom of health, physically and mentally. I made the most audacious goal for my health-- THAT I WOULD ONE DAY BE HEALTHY.

That one day I would be free of depression.

That I would not hallucinate and see dead people.

That I would not have extreme panic attacks.

That I would not have anxiety.

That I would not be in constant pain every day.

That I would never feel another migraine in my life.

That I was able to regulate my emotions.

That my hormones were balanced and healthy.

That I was in a body could feel love.

That I was at peace with the scars and stretch marks.

That I could remove all the excess weight.

That I could be loved by MYSELF.

That I could create art and help others.

That I could be happy.

THAT IS MY MOUNTAIN.

All the doctors laughed at my goal. I have been able to make it 90% up that mountain they said I could never climb.

CHOOSE YOUR MOUNTAIN.

Walk towards it with faith and belief.
